LITTLE BROWN BOX 2015

Dulwich College English Department has just published Little Brown Box, a colourful book of etchings and poetry produced by more than fifty boys in the Lower School. The material for the book emerged over two years from a cross-curricular initiative between English, Geography and Art for boys in Year 7, involving dedicated learning days at the National Trust site, Box Hill.

The composition of the writing gestures towards the photographic: the sharp, mercurial response to a pinpoint moment of interest. Above all, the boys’ creativity here testifies to the wide variety of mood summoned by the trees, wildlife and grand expanses of the Surrey countryside.
