About us

The Commissariat

The Commissariat has been operating at the heart of the college for over 80 years. We give support to the school in many different ways and we are very proud of the service provided, taking pride in being the first port of call for boys, parents and staff.

Uniform

Our first priority is to ensure that the uniform requirements set out by Dulwich College are met to the highest standard possible and support all boys/parents in achieving this. The Commissariat offers a wide range of uniform, sportswear, footwear and stationery for purchase.

General Purchases

Boys can make general purchases from the Commissariat during the school day. Items bought can be paid for with cash or parents can be contacted at the boys request to take credit/debit card details over the phone. This service offers a more convenient way of shopping for parents who are unable to come in and make payment directly. A limited amount of spare ties and calculators are also available for boys to borrow in an emergency, items which have been borrowed should be returned at the end of the school day.

Staff Purchases

Staff purchases can be made directly within the Commissariat. Specialised stationery items which are not stocked, can be ordered for next day delivery from one of our suppliers. The items ordered can be collected from the Commissariat or direct delivery can be arranged to the relevant department.

Lunch

Termly lunch payments can be made within the shop or via our web store. Daily lunch tickets can also be purchased directly from the Commissariat, the daily slip gives boys more flexibility if they do not wish to attend the lunch hall on a daily basis and can be used as and when. We also operate an IOU system for boys who may not have a lunch payment at a particular time, this system ensures that no boy will ever go without a lunch. Parents will be contacted at a later date for payment of IOU’s.

Lost Property

All unnamed lost property which is found, should be handed in directly to the Commissariat. This will be kept for a period of 4 weeks, any unclaimed items are cleared and donated to The Friends of Dulwich. Any valuable lost property found should be handed in at the Commissariat, items received are signed for by a member of the Commissariat team and logged. Details of the lost property are posted on lost and found, anything which is unclaimed will be cleared termly and donated to charity.
